PURPOSE: To prevent a belt from being biased and to prevent the back surface of a transfer material from being stained by constituting the belt of three layers of an inside layer, an intermediate layer and a surface layer and forming it of such a material that the elongation of the surf ace layer and the intermediate layer satisfies specified relation.
CONSTITUTION: The transfer carrying belt 6 is constituted of three layers of the inside layer C, the intermediate layer B and the surface layer A. Besides, it is formed of such a material that the elongation of the layers A and B satisfies the relation of (the elongation of the intermediate layer B)>(the elongation of the surface layer A), such a material that the thickness of the respective materials of the layers A and B satisfies the relation of (the thickness of the surface layer)+(the thickness of the intermediate layer)<25μm, such a material that the thickness of the layers A and B satisfies the relation of (the thickness of the surface layer)<(the thickness of the intermediate layer) and such a material that the volume resistivity of the layers A and B satisfies the relation of (the volume resistivity of the surface layer)<(the volume resistivity of the intermediate layer). Thus, the elongation required for rotating the belt is satisfied and cleaning property is also satisfied.
