Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device and image forming apparatus that have suppressed the occurrence of image quality defects without reducing productivity.SOLUTION: A transfer device includes a control unit that generates a transfer voltage transferring toner images on sheets, a resistance detection voltage having the same polarity as that of the transfer voltage, and a cleaning voltage having the reverse polarity to that of the transfer voltage, where the control unit generates the transfer voltage in a transfer section where sheets are passing a transfer unit in a continuous travel mode, and generates the resistance detection voltage and the cleaning voltage in a non-arrival section, while switching the generation time ratio in the non-arrival section between the resistance detection voltage and the cleaning voltage in the continuous travel mode.
