PURPOSE: To absorb a difference in processing capacity between processes by providing a pressure roller projected over a skid fixed number of times as high as the height of a weld bead in such a manner that the roller is adapted to sink under the skid by load more than specified in a transfer device for UO steel pipe or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure roller 23 is projected over a skid 8 two to ten times as high as a weld bead. One end of the pressure roller 23 is rotatably mounted on an arm 25 mounted on a support box 24 in such a manner as to pivot on a support pin 26, and the opposite end of the arm 25 is supported by an elastic member 27. In this arrangement, when a transport pipe 11 stays on the skid 8, force of (f) direction is applied to the pressure roller 23 more than needed, so that the pressure roller 23 compresses the elastic member 27 and sinks under the pipe 11. Accordingly, the pressure roller 23 continues moving. Thus, even if there is a difference between processes, the difference can be absorbed to transfer a pipe with weld bead.
