To realize a mechanism for applying a constant tension to various kinds of medium, e.g. a film or an ink ribbon, stretched between a feed roller and a winding roller while preventing adhesion of dust.
The transfer device for transferring a stripe medium R comprises a feed roller 120a around which the stripe medium R is wound, a winding roller for winding the stripe medium R from the feed roller 120a, and an auxiliary roller 304 coming into press contact with the stripe medium R wound around the feed roller 120a in order to regulate tension of the stripe medium R between the feed roller 120a and the winding roller and rotating as the stripe medium R is wound. The auxiliary roller 304 is composed of sponge extruded into roller shape and at least a part of the outer surface is covered with a skin layer.
