PURPOSE: To automatically and accurately transfer a long magnetic article, by magnetically holding the article on a magnet seat and using a truck to move the article over two tables.

CONSTITUTION: After a plug bar 1 is put on arrangement line table 5, a truck 8 is moved and a vertically moving frame 14 is located over the table and moved down by the expansion of a cylinder 15. When the frame 14 is moved down to a prescribed position, hooks 20A, 20B grab the plug bar 1 and lift it while the bar is being centered. The plug bar is then magnetically held on a magnet seat 19. The frame 14 is thereafter elevated while the plug bar 1 is held by the hooks 20A, 20B and the magnet seat 19. The truck 8 is then moved horizontally to convey the plug bar 1 onto a rolling line table 2.
