PURPOSE: To restrain the generation of a pallet twisting force in a transfer installation using the pallet by disposing a pair of left and right conveyers and providing a drive device interlocked with one conveyer to set a larger pitch between the conveyers at the upstream and downstream ends than that in the intermediate part.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of left and right conveyers 10, 11 are disposed horizontally to constitute a transfer device 12. A drive device 40 interlocked with the conveyer 10 is disposed. A pitch P1 between the conveyers at the upstream and downstream end groups 12A, 12B of the transfer device 12 is set larger than a pitch P2 between the conveyers at the intermediate section 12C. Thus, a fork 8a of a fork lift 8 and a put-in-and-out device 113 can be put in and out between both ends 12A, 12B of the conveyers 10, 11 and a pallet in the intermediate section can be prevented from twisting.
