PURPOSE: To uniformly and surely attract a transfer material to a transfer material carrier without forming vertical crinkles even though the transfer material is transfer paper with waviness.

CONSTITUTION: An electrostatic charger 14 for attracting is disposed to be orthogonally crossed with the advancing direction A of a carrying belt 7, and an attracting roll 15 is disposed to be obliquely crossed with the advancing direction A. Therefore, the transfer paper 17 is attracted to the belt 7 in a state where the left side of a leading edge with respect to the advancing direction A is guided to the belt T by the roll 15. Then, the transfer paper 17 is gradually attracted to the belt 7 in an oblique direction from the left side of the leading edge to the right side of the trailing edge as it advances. Even in the case the vertical crinkles are formed on the transfer paper 17 when the paper 17 is attracted, the formed vertical crinkles escape from the left side to the right side of the transfer paper 17. As a result, the transfer paper 17 is uniformly and surely attracted to the belt 7 all over the surface finally in a state where the vertical crinkles are eliminated.
