A printing pattern of a printing sheet 9 floated on a liquid surface is transferred to a sole member 2 of a shoe. In the sole member 2, the center line of the rear surface 6S1 of a heel part 6 is held nearly at a certain angle with respect to the vertical line, and the bottom surface 6S2 of the heel part 6 is pushed down into a liquid 13 ahead of the surface 6S1, while the sheet 9 is being pushed down by the surface 6S2. Thus the printing pattern is transferred to the rear surface 6S1 in such a manner that the pattern is stretched in the height direction of the rear surface of the heel part 6 in comparison with the sole surface 6S2.
