PURPOSE: To provide a transfer paper carrying device by which a transfer paper sheet remaining on a carrier belt can be easily taken out.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer paper carrying device is provided with a contacting- separating means 24 which supports a transfer-carrier belt 6 so as to be capable of contacting with and separating from an image carrier 1 and sets a transmitting passage of driving force of a driving source to the transfer-carrier belt 6 and a driving part 5B of the transfer-carrier belt 6 in a cutoff condition when the transfer-carrier belt 6 is separated from the image carrier 1. Therefore, even if the driving source of the transfer-carrier belt 6 is stopped, the transfer- carrier belt 6 can be moved by external operation, and a transfer material remaining on the transfer carrier belt 6 can be easily taken out.
