PURPOSE: To attain a low rate of superposition of transfer paper during feeding and carrying and slight curl of the paper after fixing by specifying the ratio between the Bekk smoothnesses of the front and rear sides of the paper and the ratio between the ash contents of the front and rear sides.

CONSTITUTION: Transfer paper is allowed to satisfy inequalities I, II [where BA is the Bekk smoothness (sec) of the front side, BB is the Bekk smoothness (sea) of the rear side, KA is the ash content (%) of the front side and KB is the ash content (%) of the rear side]. In order to satisfy the inequalities I, II, the wire side of a pulp sheet is subjected to size press coating with a size press liq. contg. an inorg. filler in a size press part set in a drier part.
