Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a transfer printing medium used for laser guided transfer printing and a method therefor.

CONSTITUTION: The transfer printing medium that has a carrier to which is applied a curable laser-transferable ink having one or more layers. The medium is capable of converting laser energy to heat. The ink contains (a) at least one colorant, (b) at least one polymerization initiator, and (c) at least one curable prepolymer. Accordingly, types of materials capable of being used for the ink can be increased, and characteristics of the ink to be prepared to need specific application can be validated.
