To provide a transfer sheet for ink jet recording, which has a high ink absorbency, a favorable color development and is excellent in the durability of the image after being transferred to various materials to be transferred and further develops neither fading of the transferred image nor peeling of the transferring layer off the material to be transferred nor development of the breakage of the transferring layer.

The transfer sheet for ink jet recording is produced by laminating a transferring layer and a support in the order named under the condition that the transferring layer includes hollow particles, which are preferably cationic.
