To provide a transferring apparatus by which a sitting user can be transferred and held so as to hold the whole buttocks of the user and which can be used also as a wheelchair.

The transferring apparatus consists of: a right and left pair of side frame parts provided on a carriage; a seat part provided at the side frame parts through quadric crank links; and a backrest provided at the side frame parts. The carriage part, the side frame parts and the seat part are nearly U-shaped so as to make a space where a rear side under the seat part is open in a view from a side face. The quadric crank links are operable so that the seat part may trace a nearly arc in a view from a front surface. In addition, the seat part is arranged inside a looped belt obtained by fixing both of the ends of the surface of the seat part to the side frame parts. When operating the seat part, the relative position of the upper surface of the belt is designated to be constant with respect to the side frame parts. Thus, in the case of inserting the seat part between the buttocks of the user and a bed etc., the whole buttocks can be held by the seat part without occurrence of rub between the buttocks and the belt.
