PURPOSE: To transform acetic acid bacteria, by introducing plasmid, its fragment, and a chromosome fragment to acetic acid bacteria in a solution containing one or more of an alkali metal, and an alkaline earth metal.
CONSTITUTION: In a solution containing one or more selected from an alkali metal and an alkaline earth metal, plasmid, its fragment, and a chromosome fragment are introduced into acetic acid bacteria collected in a range from middle phase of logarithmic multiplication to the resting phase, so that acetic acid bacteria are transformed. The solution of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal contains preferably one metal selected from lithium, rubidium, magnesium, and calcium, especially preferably 1W50mM magnesium and/or 50W100mM calcium. The solution has 6W7pH.
