To provide a transformer multiple power converter in which outflow of harmonics to the system due to resonance of a DC circuit is suppressed, and the DC circuit can be made compact and simple by reducing the current duty thereof.
The power converter comprises: a plurality of transformer units 25-28 performing mutual conversion of polyphase AC power and DC power; a plurality of transformers 21-24; and a converter control unit 11. AC voltage terminals of the transformer units 25-28 are connected in series via the transformers 21-24, and interconnected with a power system 2. DC voltage terminals of the transformer units 25-28 are independent from each other. The converter control unit 11 controls each transformer unit 25-28 so that the DC voltage thereof has a predetermined level.
