To provide a transformer, in which a plurality of windings having different numbers of turns can be combined, and which can deal easily with a change in a load or the like.
Three windings 12a, 12b, 12c are wound on a core 11. The number of turns of the winding 12a is set at 2T, that of the winding 12b is set at 3T, and that of the winding 12c is set at 4T. The core 11 is fixed and attached onto a pedestal part 13, and lead pins 14 whose number is identical to that of the end parts of the respective windings 12a, 12b, 12c are installed on the rear surface of the pedestal part 13. At least one place out of arrangement and installation pitches of the respective lead pins 14 is made different from pitches in other places, so as to prevent a mounting mistake due to the erroneous insertion of the pins 14. In order to supply a power to discharge different numbers of lamps as loads or to discharge lamps whose power consumption is different, the connection of the windings is changed, and the number of turns and the ratio of the number of turns of two windings are changed so as to standardize a transformer.
