To obtain a new transgenic plant having virus infection resistance, containing a DNA containing a promoter causing an mRNA production, a coat protein DNA of a virus with which a dicotyledon is infected and a polyadenylate addition region to a 3' end.
This new transgenic dicotyledon having virus infection resistance when expressed in a plant comprises a recombinant DNA molecule containing a promoter functioning in a plant cell to cause production of an mRNA polynucleotide, a DNA polynucleotide having a sequence encoding a coat protein of plant virus with which a dicotyledon is infected and a 3' non-translated region functioning in the plant cell to cause addition of polyadenylate to a 3' end of the sequence. The transgenic dicotyledon is obtained by inserting the recombinant DNA molecule to a plant cell by using a ribosome, a chemical material for increasing electroporation and intake of a liberated DNA and a virus or pollen.
