To provide a novel transition-metal coordination compound comprising a vinyl group that can be used as a monomer for producing a molecule imprinting polymer at a low cost selectively recognizing or selectively capturing harmful specific heavy metals such as cadmium, copper, lead, tin and mercury, a method for producing the same, and a method for producing a transition-metal molecule imprinting polymer using the transition-metal coordination compound.
The transition-metal coordination compound comprising a vinyl group is represented by formula (1): MX2L4 wherein M represents a transition metal, L represents a vinylpyridine ligand, and X represents a halogen atom. The compound is obtained by causing vinylpyridine to react with a transition-metal halide represented by formula (2): MX2 wherein M represents a transition metal and X represents a halogen atom. The transition-metal molecule imprinting polymer is produced by polymerizing the compound represented by formula (1) in the presence of a cross-linking agent comprising a plurality of vinyl groups and subsequently removing the transition metal from the resulting polymer.
