Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make it possible to simply translate inputted numerals into characters of a prescribed language by providing this translator with a transla tion means for translating numerals inputted by an input means to characters of the prescribed language.

CONSTITUTION: A display means is constituted of windows 2a, 2b consisting of LCDs or the like and a translating means is constituted of a CPU and a ROM. Keys 1 and the LCDs constituting the windows 2a to 2c are connected to the CPU through an interface. A ROM stores a program necessary for the CPU to execute translation processing, calculation processing, etc., and a RAM stores data necessary for respective processing on occasion. Another ROM stores a dictionary necessary for translation. When a prescribed value is inputted by depressing ten-key 1e on the key part 1, the CPU displays numerals corresponding to the input on the window 2a. When a translation key 1r is depressed, characters translated into English from the input are displayed on the window 2b. When a 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary) key 1s is depressed, 'KATAKANA' (square form of Japanese syllabary) expressing the pronunciation of the English character string on the window 2b is displayed on the window 2c.
