Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce an installation space, and to easily operate a translating machine, when executing the translation display of characters of plural words or combination of characters, by using an operating rod which can be displaced in the axial direction or around the axis. CONSTITUTION:In addition to an indicator 2 having plural character display digits for displaying a result of transaltion of plural words, an indicator 25 is provided separately on a body 1. This indicator 25 consists of a time graduation plate 26 of a positive form, and an input character display part 27 formed like a ring on its outside circumference. In case of functioning as a translating machine, when a hand segment 28 (the long hand in case of a clock function) is instructed so as to move to a position of an alphabetical character of the input character display part 27, by operating an operating rod 4, an optional character is inputted. Said operating rod is provided on the body 1 so that it can be displaced in the axial direction of its operating rod and around its axis, therefore, the operating performance is elevated, and also a small-sized translating machine can be obtained.
