A systematic MRD coder of a transmission apparatus receives an input of an information vector and a random number. Information vector discarding means of the transmission apparatus discards symbols of an information vector portion of a codeword output from the systematic MRD coder. Transmission means of the transmission apparatus transmits codeword symbols with the symbols of the information vector portion discarded to an arbitrary network-coded network. Reception means of a reception apparatus, on the other hand, receives the codeword symbols from the arbitrary network-coded network. Decoding means of the reception apparatus receives an input of the received codeword symbols and performs loss correction decoding of MRD coding to restore an original information vector.
