Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a rubber in contact with a pulley groove from being rubbed off by attaching the rubber adhesively only on a rear face of a canvas in a part where a transmission belt whose whole surface is covered with a canvas layer comes in contact with the pulley groove on both sides of the belt in the canvas layer.
CONSTITUTION: A V belt (t) consists of a belt main body 1 whose cross section is trapezoid, a canvas layer 2 which covers its whole surface, and a plurality of core wires 5 in which a bonded rubber layer 3 positioned on the rear side and a compressed rubber section 4 positioned on a bottom side stretch in the direction of belt length and which are arranged in the direction of belt width. As its feature, a cover rubber 2b is attached only on the rear face of a cotton cloth 2a in a part where it is positioned on both sides of the belt of the canvas layer 2. Also, in a manufacturing method thereof, the whole surface of the belt main body 1 is made by buffing both sides of a vulcanized belt which is covered with the canvas layer 2 which is constituted by attaching the cover rubber 2b on the front and rear faces of the cotton cloth 2a, and the cover rubber 2a which is attached to a surface of t he cotton cloth 2a in the part is removed.
