Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce noise of a stepless speed changing transmission belt by applying a piece of elastic material to a hollow or other side of hollow of metallic blocks of belt. CONSTITUTION:A metallic ring 6 consists of multiple layers of metallic plates 61, 62, 63. The metallic ring 6 is provided with a number of blocks 7 which are able to freely slide and arranged without any gap between each other, forming a stepless transmission belt. The side view of blocks 7 are tapered off towards inside to facilitate easy bending of the belt. A piece of elastic material 8 is attached to a hollow of each block 7 which adsorbs shock of collision between blocks 7 upon bending of the belt and thus reduces noise.
