Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simplify an installation structure of a transmission cover, by forming at a rear portion of a transmission casing body a portion supporting at least a part of a shaft end on a pulley side of a rear axle shaft, and supporting the remainder of the axle shaft to the transmission cover. CONSTITUTION:Rotation of an engine crank shaft is transmitted through a V belt 20, a variable pulley 19, an automatic centrifugal starting clutch 23, an input shaft 7, and a reduction gear 6 to an axle shaft 4 of a rear wheel 3. There is provided at a rear portion 11 of a transmission casing body 10 a bearing 9 for the input shaft 7, a shaft portion 29 of a gear train 8, and a lower shaft support portion 13 for supporting a lower half of the axle shaft 4 on a pulley side. Further, there is provided a semicircular transmission cover 15 for supporting the bearing 9, the shaft portion 29, and an upper half of the axle shaft 4 on a pulley side. Thus, the input shaft 7, the shaft portion 29, and the axle shaft 4 are interposedly supported to the cover 15 and the lower shaft support portion 13.
