To provide a transmission device and a transmission method capable of suppressing a risk that operation becomes unstable as much as possible at least for a device having high priority, even if voltage reduction occurs in supplied power of a power source.
A transmitting/receiving part 101 transmits and receives multiple signals for which priority is set, through one transmission cable, and receives supply of power of a power source. A cable loss calculation part 113 calculates a cable loss. An allowance calculation part 113 calculates an allowance of the power based on the largest supply power of the power source to be supplied, the cable loss, and consumption power of multiple devices for processing the multiple signals respectively. According to the power allowance, a control part 113 performs control so as to supply the power of the power source to the devices, in order from the device for processing the signal having high priority.
