To hold a conventional voice, a dedicated line, and an ATM service in a data network, such as an IP-VPN network, a broader-based Ethernet network, etc.; and to match OAM information conventionally incorporated in the network and to be transferred.
A TDM signal inputted into a fixed band signal terminating unit 801 is separately sent at main signal information into an information storage buffer 802 and at alarm signal into an OEM information detector 803. An additional information assembly unit 806 receives the OAM information from the OAM information detector 803, and generates the OAM additional information added to an Ether frame. Data read from the information storage buffer 802 and information assembled by the additional information assembly unit 806 is multiplexed by a multiplexer 807, assembled to an MAC frame by an MAC frame assembly unit 808, and sent to a packet network through a physical interface unit 809.
