PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of working oil by providing an overload condition detecting device detecting the overload condition of a hydraulic transmission gear and giving warning to an operator to perform shift down, when the overload condition is detected in a transmission gear including a hydraulic transmission gear. CONSTITUTION:A variable speed gear for a vehicle consists of a hydraulic transmission gear, a transmission gear 100 incorporating a friction type clutch for power breaking connected serially thereto, a normally engaging type gear variable speed gear 200 and a variable speed gear case 300 accommodating these gears. In this case, an oil temperature sensor 91 detecting the temperature of the working oil is provided in an oil path introducing the working oil of the hydraulic transmission gear. And the output signal of the oil temperature sensor 91 is input to an electronic control device 8, and when the temperature of the working oil of the hydraulic transmission gear rises higher than a predetermined temperature and overload condition is attained, an alarm device 92 such as lamp, buzzer etc. provided on the operator's seat is operated to demand shift down, and elimination of the overload condition is promoted.
