Abstract:
To provide a transmission which enables reduction of tensile stress occurring on an outer peripheral surface of an annular elastic member to improve fatigue strength of the annular elastic member, and to provide a manufacturing method of the transmission.SOLUTION: A transmission TM has an annular elastic member 11 and a rotating body 7. The annular elastic member 11 has elasticity and an annular shape and is formed with a center axis AX set to its center. The rotating body 7 is disposed at the inner side of the annular elastic member 11 in a radial direction RD and presses an inner peripheral surface 111a of the annular elastic member 11 from the inner side as seen in the radial direction RD to the outer side as seen in the radial direction RD. The annular elastic member 11 has: an annular inner area 41 located at the inner side as seen in the radial direction RD; and an annular outer area 42 located at the outer side as seen in the radial direction RD. Compressive residual stress exists in at least a first area 421 of the outer area 42. The first area 421 indicates an area of the outer area 42 which faces the rotating body 7 through the inner area 41 in the radial direction RD.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
