To provide a transmission power control apparatus and a transmission power control method for correcting electric deviations of each channel and a transmission signal to have low distortion by means of simple control to thereby lower the signal distortion and keep the communication state excellent in applying low current consumption control to a high output transmission power region.

A reception section 221 demodulates a transmission signal sent from an antenna 219, an uplink signal information detection section 222 extracts information associated with a transmission frequency and a transmission power, a control section 226 determines the matching condition on the basis of the extracted transmission frequency and transmission power, and a matching switching section 213 selects the matching condition of a transmission circuit so as to obtain the determined matching condition. Further, a distortion compensation section in the transmission circuit is activated or deactivated or its electric characteristic is switched so as to obtain an excellent distortion characteristic on the basis of the extracted transmission frequency and transmission power.
