PURPOSE: To manufacture a transmission screen which is light and large-sized, by constituting a platelike clad part having a projection surface and an observation surface, of synthetic resin, and also providing on this clad part a many of columnar core parts whose refractive index is higher than that of said clad part.
CONSTITUTION: On a platelike clad part 3 having a projection surface 1 and an observation surface 2 of its opposite side are arrayed a many of columnar core parts 4 whose refractive index is higher than that of this clad part 3 and also whose both ends are exposed against said projection surface 1 and observation surface 2. This clad part is made of synthetic resin. In order to manufacture this clad part, a many of linear core strands 4 having the diameter of scores of about several +μm are inserted into a jacket pipe, and it is soaked in synthetic resin such as silicon resin whose refractive index is lower than that of the core strand 4, by which the clad part 3, etc. are formed. Subsequently, it is cut off in order to a screen form having the projection surface 1 and the observation surface 2.
