To prevent an input of an unnecessary load to a shift mechanism in the switching operation of an operating lever.
A stopper mechanism 50 is provided for abutting on an extended part 34c of a lower lever 34 to restrict the operating lever 30 to tilt in a shift direction. When starting to step on a clutch pedal 84, a first linear magnet solenoid 52 and a second linear magnet solenoid 54 are switched off to allow the operating lever 30 to be operated from a present shift stage to a neutral stage. When the clutch pedal 84 is completely stepped on, the first linear magnet solenoid 52 or the second linear magnet solenoid 54 in an on-state is switched off to allow the operating lever 30 to be shift-operated from the neutral stage to a requested shift stage. As a result, the operating lever 30 cannot be shift-operated into a requested shift stage in the incompletely cut-off state of connection between a crankshaft of an engine and an input shaft 2. The input of an unnecessary load to a synchronizer S can thereby be prevented.
