PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize transmission of high-quality signal by reducing the influence of a multiple-path interference or the like, when transmitting a plurality of information signal sequences via a plurality of carriers between a transmitter and a receiver.
SOLUTION: The transmission system transmits the plurality of the information signal sequences via the plurality of the carriers between the transmitter and the receiver. The transmission system comprises a propagation route estimating unit 4 for estimating the propagation route between the transmitter and the receiver, and a number-of-carrier deciding unit 3 for deciding the number of the carrier, based on the estimated result of the unit 4. The propagation route can be estimated by the unit 4, based on the delay time interval of the multiple-path and the number of the multiple-paths. The number of the carriers is decided by the unit 3, by reducing the number of the carriers, when the multiple-path interference is small and increasing the number of the carriers, when the multiple-path interference is large.
