The transmission-type radio wave absorbing apparatus is composed of a transmission type radio wave absorber 1, comprising a dielectric layer 10 and an impedance layer 20 so as to meet the conditions d=λ0/(4(r)1/2), Zs=Z0/(r-Z0/Z3), where (d) is the thickness of the dielectric layer 10, r is the relative dielectric constant, Zs is the impedance of the impedance layer 2, λ0 is the wavelength of the radio wave, Z0 is the intrinsic impedance of a region on the incident side, and Z3 is the intrinsic impedance at the transmitted side. Or, the transmission type radio absorbers or dielectric layers are laminated multiply to form a transmission-type radio wave absorbing apparatus.
