To facilitate a constitution change (change of speed-change stages) of a transmission.
The transmission is equipped with: an input side transmission unit UI which changes the rotation of an input shaft 1 rotated by receiving input rotation into N stages to transmit the rotation to a counter shaft 2; and an output side transmission unit UO which consists of a first planetary gear train 40 and second planetary gear train 50 and changes the rotation speed of the counter shaft 2 to output the rotation to an output shaft 4. In first to fourth rotating elements composing the output side transmission unit UO, a first and second sun gears S1, S2 are disengageably connected to each other through the medium of the input shaft 1 and first clutch K1. A first carrier C1 is connected to the output shaft 4. A second carrier and first ring gear R1 are disengageably connected to each other through the medium of the input shaft 1 and second clutch K2, and are fixed and held through the medium of a second brake B2. A second ring gear R2 is fixed and held through the medium of a first brake B1 and connected to the upstream side output member.
