Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent loaded chain from arbitrary movement by a braking/transmission unit utilizing coil spring installed between the drive sprocket of an endless chain and a driving motor. CONSTITUTION:Presence of powerful force acting downward on the descending side of a chain 8 due to the dead load of products placed on each of a workpiece table 13 on the conveyor side allows the chain 8 to exert a significant force on a sprocket wheel 6. As a rotational force on a wheel 6 is transferred to a rotary member 22 and acts on a coil spring 21 as if winding it tightly, the spring 21 is caused to tighten a brake 20 on its outer circumference, thereby preventing the rotaion of the rotary member 22 and a drive shaft 5.
