To provide a transmissive diffractive grating having no deviation in a polarization azimuth of incident light and, even when polarization dependency of a diffractive layer is high, providing high diffraction efficiency, and to provide a detecting device using the same.
A transmissive diffraction grating 10 includes: a polarization conversion layer 20; a first diffractive layer 30 disposed on one surface side of the polarization conversion layer; and a second diffractive layer 40 disposed on the other surface side of the polarization conversion layer. Both the first diffractive layer 30 and the second diffractive layer 40 include refractive index modulation structures 32 and 42 arranged at a period P in a first direction, and diffraction efficiency for a TE polarized light component is higher than diffraction efficiency for a TM polarized light component.
