Abstract:
To enable flexible band allocation to improve frequency utilization efficiency.SOLUTION: A transmitter according to a first aspect is a transmitter to be used for a digital broadcasting system for performing layer transfer of a plurality of layers using a segment structure in which one broadcast channel is divided into a plurality of segments. The transmitter comprises: control signal generation means for generating a transfer control signal for designating band allocation of at least one layer of the plurality of layers in units of quantities smaller than segments; and control signal transmission means for transmitting the transfer control signal to the receiver. Each of the plurality of segments is constituted by a plurality of subcarriers. The transfer control signal designates the band allocation in units of subcarriers or units of divided segments that each are composed of two or more subcarriers, as the quantities smaller than segments.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
