PURPOSE: To obtain the subject soap consisting essentially of a fatty acid mixture of a straight-chain saturated higher fatty acid with a saturated higher fatty acid branched at its α-position and excellent in solid property and solubility and foaming power at low temperature in addition to safety, transparency and stability with the passage of days.
CONSTITUTION: This soap consists essentially of a fatty acid mixture of a 14-18C straight-chain saturated fatty acid (e.g. myristic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid) with a 14-18C saturated fatty acid branched at its α position, preferably mixed in a weight ratio of (85/15) to (50/50). Furthermore, paired ions of the fatty acid mixture are Na and K and the molar ratio of Na to K is preferably (90/10) to (70/30). The soap contains preferably polyglycerol obtained by polycondensation of ≥2 glycerols.
