Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a transparent hard coating film capable of enhancing the surface hardness of a plastic substrate and suppressing the deterioration in the substrate due to ultraviolet rays.
CONSTITUTION: This transparent hard coating film for a plastic substrate is applied to at least one surface of the plastic substrate such as a polycarbonate and comprises a thin film prepared by hydrolyzing and polycondensing a composition containing an alkoxysilane and a zinc compound such as a zinc alkoxide according to a sol-gel method. The hard coating film can be used for various applications such as automotive window glass or lenses.
