PURPOSE: To produce a composition having high transparency and excellent heat-resistance, flame-retardance and impact resistance, by compounding an α- methylstyrene/acrylonitrile/methyl methacrylate copolymer with an MBS resin and a chlorine-containing resin.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) a copolymer prepared by the suspension or bulk polymerization of 0W70pts.(wt.), preferably 30W60pts. of α-methylstyrene, 10W35pts., preferably 15W25pts. of acrylonitrile, 10W60pts., preferably 30W55pts. of methyl methacrylate and 0W 20pts. of a monomer copolymerizable therewith, with (B) an MBS resin and (C) a chlorine-containing resin. The polymerization initiator of the component A is e.g. di-t-butyl peroxyhexahydroterephthalate, 1,1'-azobiscyclohexane-1-carbonitrile, etc., and the component C is e.g. an ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer having an average polymerization degree of 400W800.
