To provide a transparent solid soap composition imparting good moist feeling to hair by shampooing, generating creamy foam and having good transparency and solid properties.

The transparent solid soap composition contains (A) a fatty acid soap, (B) a polyhydric alcohol and (C) a fatty acid alkanolamide expressed by general formula (1) [R1 is a 5-21C straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl which may be substituted with one or more hydroxy groups; R2 is H or a 1-5C alkyl; and (m) and (n) are each the same or different integer of 1-5 provided that (m) is not equal to (n) when R2 is H] as essential components.
