The transplanter is provided with a planting work machine 7 having a planting part 16 to pick up the seedling from the seedling tray 14 and plant it on a field, and a traverse motion mechanism to laterally reciprocate the seedling tray relative to the planting part, a planting clutch to connect and disconnect power transmission to the planting work machine, a working machine operation tool to operate lifting and lowering of the planting work machine and connection and disconnection of the planting clutch, and a controller 11 to control lateral motion of the seedling tray relative to the planting part through the traverse motion mechanism, wherein the controller has the edge shift mode to stop the seedling tray to the right or left edge. The transplanter is further provided with a lift stop operation tool to stop the lifting and lowering of the planting work machine in preference to the operation of the working machine operation tool, and the controller is configured to perform the switching to the edge shift mode based on the fixation of the lifting height of the planting work machine by operating the lift stop operation tool.
