To provide a transport device for a dolly capable of changing the number of dollies constituting a production line easily and at low cost.

The transport device for dollies is composed of guide means 20, 28, or the like installed along the specified path, a propulsive force giving means 35 located at the specified point of the guide means, a bunch of dollies D-H etc. installed in line in positions ahead of the other than the specified point of the guide means in such a way as abutting to one another and consisting of a plurality of dollies constituting the line, and a transporting machine 1 equipped with a reading part 87 to read the path and the position of the guide means, a drive source 84, and an engaging member 93 coupled with the dolly or separated therefrom. In this transporting device, the propulsive force giving means gives a propulsive force to the backmost situated dolly which the transporting machine carried in to the bunch, and the bunch of dollies is propelled in a single piece.
