To provide a conveying device capable of preventing articles housed in a container in a standing state from falling before conveying.SOLUTION: A conveying device (1) conveys n pieces of rice balls (W) housed in a product tiered box (T1) in which n pieces of articles are housed in a plurality of rows in a thickness direction to a shipping tiered box (T2). The conveying device includes a first holding device (4A) and a second holding device (4B) capable of holding n pieces of the housed rice balls in the same row and moving in a front and back direction, a temporary loading part (5) provided on a track connecting the product tiered box and the shipping tiered box and loading at least n pieces of the rice balls on the same row, and a third moving part (8) for moving the temporary loading part in a row direction orthogonal to the front and back direction. The first holding device conveys the rice balls from the product tiered box to the temporary loading part, and the second holding device conveys the rice balls from the temporary loading part to the shipping tiered box. The third moving part is controlled so as to adjust a position in the row direction in the temporary loading part in carrying-in and out the rice balls to the temporary loading part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
