Abstract:
PURPOSE: To divide a transport gear chain into a plurality of sections having various transporting speeds by changing the distance between neighboring articles to be transported on a transport track by a gear chain for transporting articles such as glass articles.
CONSTITUTION: A gear chain 6 having adjoining sections 2, 3 is driven surrounding a common sprocket wheel 7 of the sections. At that time, chains of one section 2 are interlocked with gear-teeth of the sprocket wheel 7, and the chains of the other section 3 slide on the sprocket wheel 7, and the remaining chains of the section 3 are interlocked with the gear-teeth of the adjoining sprocket wheel 7.
