Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and easily manufacturable transportation and storage container for transporting and/or storing a low level radioactive waste safely.
SOLUTION: In this steel-made rectangular container provided with a rectangular container main body 1 capable of storing respectively two drum cans longitudinally and laterally, and a lid body 3 contacting closely with a top part of the main body 1, and for transporting and/or storing the drum cans stored with the radioactive waste, a side face plate of the main body 1 is reinforced with a vertical reinforcement material 7, the main body 1 positioned with a top plate side chime of the drum can is reinforced by a band 8 and a horizontal reinforcement material 9, and a positioning member 10 for the drum can is provided in an inner bottom part. The lid part 3 is reinforced by a lattice-like reinforcement material 13, and is provided with an elastic packing 15 in a contact part contacting with the main body. The main body 1 is connected to the lid part 3 by a plurality of clamps 16.
