To provide a transporting device which enables storage of a running body running over a driving chain and is equipped with a release preventing mechanism to operate only when the running body is running and out of operation when it is in the stored condition and provide a release preventing mechanism to work optimally when applied to the transporting device described.

A driving member 2 is composed of a drive transmission part 21 protruding upward from the driving chain 1 and wheel parts 15-18 fitted to an inner link. The running body 3 is composed of an ahead running base part 31 and a behind running base part 32 arranged separately fore and aft in the advancing direction, running wheels 36 and 37 installed on the respective base parts, a traveling platform 33 supported by the two base parts, a swinging member 6 with one end protruding ahead, a member to be transmitted 65 installed at the other end of the swinging member, and a regular run preventing member 7 installed on the ahead running base part.
