To enable the operations of a speed change shifter interlocking with a speed change operating shaft in an always stable state and the smooth practice of speed change operations in a transverse feed speed change device for a seedling-carrying platform equipped with a speed change inputting shaft for transmitting a power to a rotation screw shaft with a selected speed change gear and a speed change shifter for changing over the selection of the speed change gear interlocking with the speed change operating shaft in a speed change mechanism of the rotation screw shaft for transversely feeding the seedling-carrying platform.
This transverse feed speed change device for a seedling-carrying platform in a transplanter is obtained by inserting a speed change shifter 14 into a hollow part 13a in the shaft center direction formed in a speed change inputting shaft 13 so as to enable the free advance or retreat, protrusively forming a changeover protruding part 14a for pressing a changeover unit 16 and fitting the changeover unit 16 into a selected speed change gear 10a in the speed change shifter 14, changing over the selection of the speed change gear 10a with the advanced or retreated speed change shifter 14, supporting the advanced or retreated speed change shifter 14 on two points with a bearing part 38 disposed in the speed change inputting shaft 13 and the changeover protruding part 14a for pressing the changeover unit 16 and thereby operating the speed change shifter 14 interlocking with a speed change operating shaft 21 in an always stable state.
