Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a complex lifting operation of a propeller and attach a propeller efficiently and safely by making the propeller, horizontally held on a movable cradle in a first process, into a rising state in a second process, and then having it reached to the mounting position at the stern by means of traverse movements at a third process.
SOLUTION: In the case where a large-size propeller 1 is attached to the rear end of a propeller shaft at the stern, first of all, this propeller 1 is horizontally supported on a movable cradle 8 at the side of a propeller mounting position at the stern and temporarily secured tight. Next, this movable cradle 8 is turned round as far as nearly 90 degrees around a horizontal shaft 9 being made at a right angle in the ship longitudinal direction, holding this propeller in a rising state. In succession, the movable cradle 8 is transversely moved along a guide rail 7 together with a movable carriage 6, and the propeller 1 on the movable cradle 8 is reached to the propeller mounting position adjacent to a stern bossing. Subsequently, at the propeller mounting position, the rear end of the inboard propeller shaft is attached to a boss hole 1a of the propeller 1 so as to have it fitted, and then the temporary locking to the movable cradle 8 of the propeller 1 is thus released.
