PURPOSE: To remove the deviation of bonding strength and the deterioration of elongation and anchoring property by an adhesive by a method in which the raising and lowering path of a cutting blade are set obliquely set in some degree, while they are directed from the upper side to the lower side in veneer-transferring direction, and the adhesive-coater constructed capably of discharging the adhesive, is provided.
CONSTITUTION: A cutting blade 2 is lowered, and the unnecessary part 8b and the useful part 8a of the front end of a following veneer 8 are separately cut. Next, alternatively of the rising of the cutting blade 2, when the tip of the opening and closing body 3 for selection passes a prescribed position X and advances into the groove 1a of an anvil roll 1, the suitable amount of an adhesive 20 is discharged from the outlet 9a of an adhesive-coater 9. Next, when the tip of the opening and closing body 3 for selection is lowered in the groove 1a, the rear end of the useful part 8a of a proceeding veneer is superimposed on the front end of the useful part 8a of the following veneer, and the adhesion is achieved by the adhesive 20. Then the end of the veneer is obliquely cut, while it is directed to the lower side from the upper side in the veneer-transferring direction, and since the end surface of the rear end of the proceeding veneer is coated with the adhesive, the value of its bonding strength does not tend to be biased onto the front side thereof.
